The Runestone

You are about to enter the Fifth Dimension...

"Fifth dimension" you say. "But there are only three: length, width and height."

Oh, no.  Those are the dimensions of space.  But suppose we agree to meet on the third floor of a building at Broadway and 14th, and I arrive on Monday and you on Tuesday.  We do not meet, for time is the fourth dimension.

"And the fifth?" you ask.

Take it a step farther.  Set your meeting place not on Earth but on the planet Mars, and yet another dimension has been added:  imagination.  It is as simple as that.

The Runestone is a page reserved for miscellaneous fiction, essays, original illustrations, and other eclectic material.  In preparation are several projects written by my brother Jim, including some of his war-time journalism.  In the eighties he finished a rough draft of a novel based on his experiences serving in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division during the Viet Nam war.  In the nineties he began to turn that manuscript into a graphic novel.  The Runestone will display various text of the original draft, along with a few ink drawings he completed for the graphic version.

The Runestone will also showcase some of my brother Bob's artwork, which will include his pastel-portraits of the Universal Studio Monsters.
